Carl Howe always had an interest in construction. He worked in his brother's construction business, off and on, since he was about 12 years old.

Carl's engineering education was from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. One year, however, was spent doing no engineering at all in Madrid, Spain. Carl was the first Architectural Engineering student from Cal Poly to take advantage of the study abroad program. In Madrid, Carl studied Spanish Language and the city itself by doing lots of walking. 

Carl Howe graduated from the Architectural Engineering Program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1986. From there he worked as a Project Design Engineer at Vincent Kevin Kelly and Associates in Santa Monica, California. There, he was immediately immersed in a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, and specialty amusement park structures - including roller coasters.

Carl Howe was licensed in Civil Engineering in 1989. Carl founded C. W. Howe Partners in 1995. Since then he has continued to handle a very wide range of projects. His interest in architecture and construction continues to serve him well in the practice of structural engineering design.
