Miguel A. Bribiesca
Civil Staff Engineer
Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, Miguel grew up with a deep-seated fascination for how water and infrastructure shape our world. This passion led him to complete his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a Ph.D. at UCLA, where he focused on hydrology and remote sensing. His journey to Southern California was fueled by his academic excellence, having won both the prestigious Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship and a Mexican government scholarship (CONACYT) to support his doctoral research.
With a career spanning from assessing national dam safety in Mexico to designing grading and stormwater management systems in Southern California, Miguel joined C.W. Howe Partners to apply his technical expertise to real-world land development. He particularly enjoys the challenge of integrating sustainable LID measures into tangible residential and commercial projects.
When he isn’t modeling hydraulic systems or analyzing satellite data, Miguel is likely reading a history book or cheering on Real Madrid. Beyond his design work, he has traveled to numerous national and international conferences to present his research and has recently published his findings in the academic journal, Science Direct.
